MATURITY

Inspired by U.S. fashion photographer Irving Penn. One in a series of Poppy paintings completed 2017 - 2018. I entitled this Maturity. Like humans, flowers have a life cycle. This image is beyond the color of youth, and is perhaps in its Maturity. Like elders, this flower continues to offer beauty and subtle color to the viewer.
